Copa90 video: can technology improve an amateur football team?

We teamed up with Copa90 with the aim of improving their game, here’s how they got on…

Who are Copa90?

Copa90 have the core belief that football has the power to unite people across the world. For the last few years, Copa90 have been making films and telling stories that celebrate the beautiful game.

Outside of the office, Copa90 compete in a 7-aside league in London. It can be said that they take their football semi-seriously, with a player-manager and dedicated team WhatsApp group, Copa90 don’t mess around.

As aspiring footballers, the team at Copa90 wanted to get more from their game and we helped them do just that. We tracked their game metrics including; total distance, sprint speed, power plays and number of sprints.

For Copa90, GPS tracking vests were a new piece of kit, technology most the team had seen before but never used. To help understand the stats, we brought our SmartCoach Chris Barnes down to explain metrics and set benchmarks for the players.
