PLAYR Makes Debut At Fulham

Making its debut in front of 25 journalists, influencers and sports scientists at Fulham Football Club’s training ground, the future certainly looks bright for PLAYR.

Our exclusive event kicked off with a presentation from CEO of PLAYR Benoit Simeray and CEO of Catapult Sports Joe Powell before the likes of the BBC, FourFourTwo and Ladbible were put through their paces by our SmartCoaches, Wales FA’s Tony Strudwick and Performance Consultant Chris Barnes, with intense training drills, possession-based exercises and then a match. Players were soon able to look through their game data, including how far they ran, their top speed and GPS positional heat map in addition to many more metrics, while the SmartCoach system then advised them on nutrition, post-match exercise and sleep.

“When we engineer or manufacture a product at the elite level, we sell to a team, and our main users are the staff—the strength and conditioning, performance or fitness or medical staff,” said Benoit. “We had to put the player at the very center of what that system would be. Very much the hero of PLAYR is the SmartCoach and the SmartCoach is an extension of our sports science knowledge at the professional level for the last 12 years.”

Those lucky enough to be pitchside witnessed PLAYR in action for the first time, while guests then took part in a range of interviews, social content and photography as users got to grips with what football technology can do for their performance. You can check out some of the stories that have been written about us below, while keep your eyes peeled for plenty of fun from Fulham in the near future.
