PLAYR Supports United Against Knife Crime
PLAYR kitted out artists such as Dappy, Kojo Funds, Joe Black and Youngs Tefflon at the the ‘United Against Knife Crime’ football match between youth broadcaster SBTV and Hackney Wick last week.
The Marathon Community Track Stadium hosted the charity event in front of a number of fans as grime, drill and hip-hop artists got together to raise awareness and combat the rising knife crime rate in London. The crowd in attendance weren’t left wanting for goals as the match finished 5-5 between the two sides, before a penalty shootout, music performances and a meet and greet followed.
Bobby Kasanga, a reformed gang member and founder of Hackney Wick FC, said: “I came from that background – when I started this football club it was all about trying to support the youth. We’re trying to send a message that we’re united. London is for everyone – you can’t say someone from Newham can’t go into Lewisham or someone from Southwark can’t go into Lambeth – there should be no postcodes. It’s all about unity.”
We’re proud to support initiatives such as United Against Knife Crime and hope to continue providing players at every level the technology used by professionals.
