GPS Technology Made Simple: A Step-By-Step Guide To PLAYR

There’s no better feeling than opening PLAYR for the first time. PLAYR is smart technology made simple, but to help, we’ve created this step-by-step guide to ensure you get up and running as quickly as possible.

Step One

Make sure you’ve downloaded the PLAYR app, available on both Android and iPhone devices with at least iOS 9.0 or Lollipop 5.0, from the App Store or Google Play.

Step Two 

Once you’ve got our app on your device, you will then need to register and switch on your Bluetooth in order to pair your SmartPod with your account. Simply select the SmartPod section (the fourth icon) and while holding the SmartPod next your device, press the ‘PAIR SMARTPOD’ button to pair.

Step Three 

This step is mostly up to you: it’s time to play.

Our auto-detect technology means you don’t have to worry about pressing a record button, just make sure your SmartPod is fully charged, inserted into the SmartVest with the lights facing outwards and the ‘C’ at the bottom. Place the SmartPod in your SmartVest when you want to start recording and once your game or training session is over, remove the SmartPod from the SmartVest.

Step Four 

With the SmartPod withdrawn from the SmartVest, open up the PLAYR app and hold the SmartPod next your phone.

Select the SmartPod section (fourth icon along) and you will have a notification saying:‘NEW SESSION FOUND’. Press the ‘SYNC SESSION’ button and within moments you will have your session’s data at your fingertips.

We recommend syncing your session at the earliest available opportunity in order to get the most applicable sports science advice to improve your preparation, performance and recovery.

Step Five

Fill in information such as the final score, your position and the duration of a game, before setting up your calendar and organising future sessions.
